Don’t be surprised if you come across a giant drying rack carelessly set up in the city : G. Bistaki’s acolytes have struck again !
Neither solely circus nor solely dance, the company has developed its own language. After the cock-ups in Cooperatzia and the mistakes in Baïna[na], this time around the four actor-jugglers have set their sights on… a white sheet.
A simple linen which sometimes becomes a bodily envelope, accessory, decor or instrument, and which the performers twist and turn as they wish.

And thanks to the (re)creative use of this very ordinary accessory, they offer a funny theatrical experience, surprising, crazy and wildly poetic, a dreamlike and playful trip through civilizations and time, speaking as much about individual rituals as of collective memory.

Self-proclaimed “Cirque Chorégraphique d’Investigation”, G. Bistaki has been staging performances at the crossroads of arts and disciplines since its inception in 2006. There’s no need to look for an ounce of rationality, here fiction is based on the fantastic, the absurd and a form of derision; each concept is pushed to the extreme, both in terms of the chosen medium and the space invested. Tancarville, named after the folding clothes dryer invented in the 60s, is their latest creation.
