Compagnie Bravache – L’Iliade
(Bordeaux-France)
They thought they’d get it done in three days — it lasted ten years.
Do you know the story of the Iliad? The relentless battle between the Achaeans and the Trojans? The impossible love between Helen and Pâris? The ingenuity of Odysseus? The strength of Achilles? The sensitivity of Patroclus? When the gods and goddesses of Olympus toy with mortals, blood flows freely and passions run wild.
With paper swords, paper crowns, and quite a lot of fake blood, Compagnie Bravache chooses laughter as a way to journey through the terrible Trojan War.
For their first creation, bursting with energy, the four performers chain together songs, dances, stunts, spectacular special effects, fake mishaps, and real chaos. An all-terrain Iliad, packed into 40 minutes flat (stopwatch in hand), epic and faithful to the mythical tale — only slightly scratched along the way. And let’s not forget that it all started with an apple!

Having reached the end of their three years of training at éstba (École Supérieure de Théâtre Bordeaux Aquitaine), Barth, Margot, Ariane, and Cesare founded Compagnie Bravache in October 2022. Their quartet was built around their friendship and their shared passion for a playful, irreverent, and multidisciplinary form of theatre—one that steps outside the black-box setting of traditional performance venues and places itself firmly within public space.
