Aïchoucha

Aïchoucha was the nickname that Khalil gave his grandmother when he was a child, as she told him stories and lulled him with her songs. To pay tribute to her, and to all those who pass down memory and tradition, he imagined an immersive film-concert somewhere between trance
and contemplation: a trip along the sonic and visual landscapes of Tunisia, where ancestral heritage meets contemporary pulses. Alone on stage with his machines, Khalil Epi synchronizes his music with a documentary film projected across three screens, which he personally filmed
in various regions of Tunisia. From Malouf to Issaouiya chants, from the Tbal rhythms of Kerkennah to the melodies of Médenine, it is as though the earth itself were singing, uniting the echoes of the past and the beats of the present in a single voice.

Lulled by the recordings collected by his father — former curator of Tunisia’s National Sound Archives — Khalil Hentati trained in Arabic classical music and jazz before venturing into electronic music. His credo? To fuse club pulses, raw textures, and traditional melodies. A composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, he collaborates with artists such as N3rdistan and Dhamma, while contributing to the vibrancy of a hybrid music scene through his label, Shouka.
