Born in the silence of an abandoned cinema in Khorfakkan, Bird is an ode to the encounter between a man and a bird. Two presences, without domination or power dynamics. No taming, no control. Just living beings sharing the same space. Through simple gestures — feeding, waiting, observing — Sofiane Ouissi improvises an open choreography, a porous and fragile dance shaped by listening and unpredictability. The pigeon crosses the space at its own pace, unruly and indifferent to any human dramaturgy. The dancer listens, adapts, steps aside. Between wingbeats and inhabited silences, Bird becomes a poetry of the living where uncertainty reigns supreme, and every moment reinvents itself. A raw and delicate work in which art, decentered, allows the essential to emerge: the beauty of the unexpected, always renewed.

Choreographers, dancers, and curators, Selma and her brother Sofiane Ouissi have been creating from Tunis a choreography of daily life, transforming and displacing ordinary gestures. In 2006, they founded L’Art Rue, an artistic experimentation laboratory rooted in the medina, followed by Dream City, a festival where creation confronts political realities. From STOP… BOOM to Laaroussa Quartet, their plays create dialogue between memory, territory, and social transformations.
